21. This porringer is fashioned after those used in the mid 1700's to serve porridge (hence the name). This one is hand carved from Ebony (the stuff they make those black piano keys from) and is very black but you can see a small amount of grain. It feels more like glass than wood - and folks there won't be another one of these on Spoonlady's site because it would be easier to carve cement than this stuff! It's 4 1/2 inches in diameter; 1 1/2 inches tall; and 6 1/2 inches from the tip of the handle to the edge of the bowl. Price $90 |

that sold it to me said it was Grenge wood. The chips and dust from this
